I found this delightful little image in the grounds of stately Westport House in County Mayo where, among many other attractions, they have a small zoo. The house itself, built in 1730, is owned and occupied by the Browne family who are direct descendants of the 16th century pirate queen, Grace O’Malley. She was also known as Granuaile and a musical based on her life, produced by the same people who brought you Riverdance, is currently being staged in Chicago.
