ACHILL ISLAND

The clouds do strange things on Achill Island. I'm not sure why this is;
I'm just happy to appreciate it and photograph it when the opportunity arises.
For those who don't know, Achill is the largest island off the Irish coast
and it's certainly the most beautiful. On a sunny day, it's simply an exhilarating place to be,
the kind of place which makes you reluctant to go home.

Oddly, it's also relatively unspoiled by tourism.
They don't seem to have quite figured out the tourism thing there yet.
This particular image was a gift. I just turned around and there it was.
We were visiting the local kayak centre at the time.
The colours and shapes were just perfect.
And yes the cloud really did look like that.

You couldn't, as they say, make it up.
(Well you probably could, but let's not ruin a perfect moment
by getting into a debate about truth and digital manipulation.
